1. Who we are
ScoreEdge is a free financial-education program of Philo Ministries, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization ("ScoreEdge," "we," "us"). We help people understand and improve their own credit through training and support. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
ScoreEdge provides education. We do not perform credit repair, file disputes, or take action on your accounts on your behalf.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account and intake details — such as your name, email, phone, and the organization that enrolled you.
- Eligibility and demographic information — such as age range, income range, and information about your background, which may include sensitive details you choose to share to confirm program eligibility. Providing demographic details is optional.
- Credit information you choose to share — such as a self-reported credit score or a description of items on your report. We ask you not to share your full Social Security number or full account numbers with us or our assistants.
- Communications — messages you send us, including live-chat conversations with our support assistants.
- Donation information — if you donate, our payment processor handles your payment details; we receive confirmation and contact information, not your full card number.
Information from partner organizations
If a partner organization enrolls you, it may share your contact and program information with us so we can set up your access.

Like most websites, we collect basic technical data (such as device, browser, and usage activity) through cookies and similar tools to operate and improve the platform.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the program — your account, lessons, progress, and support.

4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:
- With the organization that enrolled you — your partner organization can see the participants and progress within its own program.
- With service providers — vetted vendors who help us run the platform (for example, hosting, email, live chat, and payment processing), under agreements that limit their use of your information.
- For reporting — we share program results with funders and in our IRS Form 990, generally in aggregate or de-identified form, not as individual personal details.
- For legal reasons — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the program.
5. When you enroll through a partner organization
Many participants join ScoreEdge through a partner organization. In those cases, the partner organization decides who to enroll and why, and we process your information on its behalf to deliver the program. The partner's own privacy practices also apply to its relationship with you. We keep each partner's participants separate from other partners, and access to participant records is restricted and logged.
6. Financial and sensitive information
Because some eligibility information can be sensitive (for example, details about your background), we collect it only where relevant to the program, keep it confidential, and restrict access to staff who need it to help you.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction — you can ask to review or correct your information.
- Deletion — you can ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep for legal or reporting reasons.
- Withdraw consent — you can stop participating and withdraw consent at any time.

8. How we protect your information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including access controls, confidentiality agreements for staff and assistants, and access logging — to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the program and to meet our reporting, legal, and nonprofit obligations, then delete or de-identify it. Support-chat records are kept according to our retention schedule and then removed.
10. Youth and children's privacy
ScoreEdge is intended for adults and for participants enrolled through a partner program. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where a program serves participants who are minors (for example, young people transitioning out of care), enrollment and information handling occur through the partner organization with the appropriate guardian or program consent. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party services and links
Our platform may link to or rely on third-party services (such as payment processing). Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
12. Changes to this policy
